We all know the traffic woes in East Orange County and now Orange County is faced with yet another problem. Research Park’s roads are private and the tenants don’t want pass through traffic so Research Park is toying with the idea of either gating or tolling their roads which would stop pass-through traffic in Research Park. But, this would dramatically increase traffic on Tanner, McCulloch and Alafaya Trail. In response to this the mayor has asked the assistant county administrator, Mr. Harrison, to look at the problem and see if there are any solutions. This area was never designed to accommodate UCF’s growth to 65,000 students and 10,000 employees at UCF and Research Park. As you will hear the prediction was 53,000 total, not 75,000 which is where we are now with more to come.
